A contradiction:
Individualism
(While connected to a whole)
Isolation
(In the heart of a crowd)
Loneliness
(A feeling that is common)

The urge to exist independent
From moral guilt,
Society’s structures,
Rigid religion,
Varied expectations,
Superfluous reputations,
Self-doubt

The urge to exist dependent
On big ideas,
Diverse communities,
Society’s norms,
Moral rewards,
Idealistic goals,
Constructed identity,
Self-worth
